Grading Rubric
With each assignment, students are assessed according to the following rubric:
A (100): Superior mastery of assessed skill(s) and is able to effectively apply these in a variety of modes.
A- (96): Mastery, but needs improvement in fine-tuning and/or applying skills across a variety of modes.
B(92): Reached expectations and has a solid foundation of assessed skill(s), but needs to improve in minor areas.
B-(88): Proficient in assessed skill(s), but is still working towards complete mastery.
C (85): Basic fundamentals of assessed skill(s), but needs improvement in a variety of areas.
C- (80): Lacking some of the fundamentals of assessed skill and needs improvement in many areas.
D (75): Completed the bare minimum and/or many mistakes detract from the ability to convey knowledge in assessed skill(s).
F (65): Does not meet expectations or demonstrate knowledge of assessed skill(s). Schedule a time to reassess.
Students who wish to redo or reassess any given assignment will need to meet with Mrs. Herndon outside of class to determine the appropriate course of action.

Grammar Assessment Progression
We use IXL for grammar assessments. While grammar lessons are presented by topic each week, students may work at their own pace to complete the IXLs assigned for the class. They make work to increase their score at anytime throughout the year.
